Born June 23, 1959, Billy left this earth unexpectedly to be with our Lord and Savior on April 8, 2024. Billy was pre-deceased by his father and mother, William Sr. and Gertrude Yates of Java VA. He was also pre-deceased by his loving uncle and aunt Bennie R. and Rachel Ann Mitchell of Danville, VA. who had been his caregivers for many years prior to their passing in 2022. He is survived by his cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Billy was a very special and unique person who God put here on earth for a reason. He enjoyed playing his toy guitar, singing, and putt putt. He loved watching tv. Billy was highly fond of the beard he had grown recently. No one could talk him into shaving it because he loved it and said it made him even more handsome than he already was. He loved to eat, except Chinese food. He refused to eat Chinese food. He could make you laugh without even trying. To know Billy was to love him.
