On October 19, 2023, our beloved, Tammy James, transitioned to be with the lord.

Tammy was born December 2, 1965, to Eugene Everett and the late Loretha Griffin (Whitehead) in Newport News, VA.

She graduated from Denbigh High School in 1984 and traveled a bit before settling back down in her hometown of Newport News, VA where she had a career that spanned over 30 years as a childcare worker. She retired in 2021 and moved to Danville, VA where she lived the remainder of her life with her children and grandchildren. Tammy will be truly missed and forever loved.

Tammy James is survived by her two children Tiffany James of Danville, VA and Travon James of Martinsville, VA. Tammy’s three grandchildren: Javahn Carmichael, Josiah Carmichael, and Jayden Carmichael of Danville, VA. Her Sisters: Monique Everett-Wilson (Anthony Wilson) of Ashburn, VA and Jada Griffin-Green (Herman Green) of Springfield, VA. Her Brothers: Butch Carney (Carla Carney) of Hampton, VA and Jason Everett. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved her immensely and miss her dearly.

Services will be private.
