Sherrod Leander “Roddie” Hairston, 66 of 307 Wendell Scott Drive passed on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Novant Heath Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.

Roddie was born on December 29, 1958, in Danville, VA to the late Alvin Russell Hairston and Ondra Hortense Wilson Hairston.

He attended Danville Public Schools.

Roddie is survived by his loving mother Ondra Hairston and stepfather James Hairston of the home, his brothers Alvin Vonzell Hairston of Waldorf, MD and Patrick Hairston (Sandra) of Axton, VA; sister Sherrell Holloman (James) of Waldorf, MD; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and his nephew Adrian Noble.

The family will receive guests at the residence from 5-8 PM.

Funeral services will be held at North New Hope Baptist Church, 123 Old Piney Forest Road on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM with viewing one hour prior. Interment will be held at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
