Sara Marie Thornton, 47, of Staunton, VA passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026, at her home.

Born July 16, 1978, in New York she was the daughter of the late William Earl Thornton and Gwendolyn Anderson Thornton, who survives. 

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her brother LeVar Thornton.

She leaves to cherish her memory in addition to her mother; her husband Jermaine King; four daughters Nyasia Thornton, Destiny Logan, Jayla King, Cortasia Cunningham; two sons Nashaun Logan, Dequeraus Davis; one sister Mandisa Anderson; two brothers Lorenzo Thornton, Corey Anderson; a bonus sister Penny Biggs; two bonus grandchildren Nasir Trotter, Alia Trotter; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. at Greater Living Word Ministries, 533 Kemper Rd, Danville VA  24541.  Interment will be private.  A visitation will be held one prior from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
