Sallie Jo (Gatewood) Royal

Sallie Jo Royal, 82, of Danville, Virginia passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at her residence.

Born September 13, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland she was the daughter of the late William Gatewood and Polly Ann Thompson Gatewood. She was married to the late Herbert Royal.

Survivors include one daughter Lavern Gatewood; one son Tommy Gatewood (Flenory Price); nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by one daughter Robyn Gatewood and one brother William Lee Gatewood Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday August 18, 2025 at 1 P.M. at Wilson Funeral Services Chapel. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 12 P.M. to 1 P.M.
