Ryland Lanier Yates Jr.

Ryland Lanier Yates Jr., 81, passed away Friday January 23, 2026, at Stratford Health and Rehab Center.

Born September 2, 1944, in Danville, Virginia he was the son of the late Ryland Yates Sr. and Frances Haskins Yates. He was married to Betty Yates, who survives.

In addition to his wife survivors include two sons Kevin Glenn and Matthew Scott (Rebecca); one brother Wayne Yates (Carol); two grandchildren Lauren Weaver and Nathaniel Yates; one great grandchild Easten Weaver; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers Lyle Yates and Carroll Yates.
