David Roger Dodson, 69, of Ringgold, VA departed this life on Thursday, June 8, 2023,
at SOVAH Health Danville.

David was born July 4, 1953, in Washington, DC to the late Roger Clements Dodson
and Bertha Lee King Dodson.

He was educated in the Prince George County Public Schools and attended Prince
George’s Community College in Maryland, where he met the love of his life Sharon.
David and Sharon were married on November 8, 1977, in Covington, VA. To this union,
one son was born.

David was a man with faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Shermount Baptist
Church in Danville, VA. He also loved nature and singing. As a bass singer, he sang
with various quartets, choirs, and acapella groups.

David worked as a grocery worker at Food Lion for over ten years.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Dodson.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Sharon Dodson, of the residence; his
devoted son David, Jr.; two granddaughters; a sister, Marie Dodson Henry (James) of
Fort Washington, MD; a brother, Dr. Thomas A. Dodson of Florida; and several nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
