It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Russell Lee Taylor, affectionately known as “Mike,Mikle” who left this world on March 11, 2026, at the age of 21.
Michael was born on November 7, 2004, in Danville, Virginia, to Jennifer Lynn Jones and Russell Lee Taylor. He resided in Ringgold, Virginia.
Known for his goofy personality and big heart, he had a natural way of making people laugh, even on their worst days. His smile, his jokes, and the way he never took life too seriously are memories that those who loved him will carry forever. Michael could light up a room and make people feel at ease. He loved many things in life, including music, cars, airplanes, video games, skateboarding, and baseball. The color orange was one of his favorites, and he enjoyed spending time doing the things that made him happy while sharing those moments with the people he loved. Michael worked as a security guard while attending college, where he was on track to graduate this year with an associate’s degree. He planned to continue his education in the fall, pursuing aviation mechanics, while steadily working toward his dream of one day working on race cars and aircrafts. His determination, ambition, and strong work ethic reflected the kind of young man he was.
Michael lived by family above all else and demonstrated that love every single day. He was a devoted big brother and protector to his younger siblings, a devoted fiancé, a proud father, a loving son and a loyal friend. His greatest joy was his family, especially his son, Tucker Dean Taylor, whom he loved beyond measure.
Michael is survived by his fiancée, Kaitlyn Annabeth Collie, his beloved son, Tucker Dean Taylor along with his fiancée's parents, Brad and Wendy Collie, and her sister, Savanah Collie, who provided him with great love and support; his parents, Jennifer Lynn Jones and husband Tommy Jones, and Russell Lee Taylor and fiancée Allison Rix; his siblings, Madison Lynn Taylor, Alexis Rae Taylor, Ayden Layne Taylor, and Dakota Burnette; his maternal grandparents, Stacy Harville, Sandra Weedman, and James and Maria Ayers; his great-grandparents, Linda Hairfield and James Ayers Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Rickie Lee Weadon and Wayne Pagliara; his aunts, Danielle Benjamin, Johanna Saunders, and Alyssa Harville; and his uncles, Justin Pagliara, Matthew Harville, and Seth Weadon.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jeanette Weadon (“Nanny”), and his aunt, Daisy Weedman.
A dedication of Michael’s life will be held at noon on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Union Church in Danville, Virginia. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor, remember, and celebrate the life of a young man whose love, laughter, protective spirit, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.
More than anything, Michael was protective, loyal, and deeply caring. If you were lucky enough to be someone he loved, you knew you had someone in your corner. He had a way of making people feel safe, valued, and understood. His presence alone could make a room feel lighter.
The world feels quieter without his laughter in it.
Though his time here was far too short, Michael’s memory and the laughter he brought into the world will never be forgotten. Legends never die.
