Melvin Louise Simmons, 62, of Danville Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Sovah Health of Danville. She was born on November 22, 1963, to the late Johnny C. Jordan and Minnie Lee Washington Jordan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters Mary Ann Burkes, Louvinnie Jordan Paramore, and one brothers Willie A. Jordan.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Nelson Simmons Jr.; one daughter Jerica Janell Simmons; two sons Jason Jarell Simmons, Justin Jarod Simmons; two sisters Anna Lois March, Bessie Jordan Hanks (Lamont Roscoe); three brothers Willie C Jordan, James L. Jordan, Cheyenne Jordan (Luezera); two grandchildren Khalani Renee Simmons, Jayceon Nasir Simmons; and her best friend Anne Crawford.

Family will receive friends and family at 430 Clarkson Drive, Danville, VA 24540 starting on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 4pm- 6pm.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 12:00 Noon, at Wilson Funeral Service and Cremation Inc., A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
