Lynnwood David Barley Sr.

Lynnwood David Barley Sr., 69, of 509 Gay Street Danville, VA passed away Thursday October 26, 2023, at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center Danville, VA.

Born June 26, 1954, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia he was the son of the late Thomas Lee Barley and Adgelean Fitzgerald Barley. He was married to Sarah Coleman Barley, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter Ebony Barley of Denton, MD; three sons Lynnwood Barley Jr. of Danville, VA, Danielle Barley of Gretna, VA, and Shawn Coleman also of Danville, VA; two sisters Velma Johnson of Langhorne, PA and Margaret Brandon (George) of Chatham, VA; three brothers Lacon Barley (Helena) of Princeton, N.J., Lee Barley of Chatham, VA, and Vincent Barley of Danville, VA; five sisters-in-law, Shirley Barley of South Boston, VA, Sandra Coleman and Florence Glass, both of Danville, VA, Rosa Glass (Joe) of Danville, VA, Beatrice Petty (Gary) of Altavista, VA; two brother in-laws, Carl Coleman and Alvin Coleman (Veronica) both of Augusta, GA; six grandchildren Da`Jauan Barley, Da'Jauari Barley, both of Denton, MD, Taliyah Barley, Taleyshia Barley, and Barry Davis Jr., all of Chatham, VA, and Tanyjah Coleman of Danville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister Mary Barley and two brothers Carl Barley and Willie Barley; and one foster brother James Irvin.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 12 noon at Life Line Gospel Church with Bishop James A. Chalmers Sr. officiating.
