Linda Whittle Obituary

Linda Whittle, age 60, of New Haven, Connecticut, peacefully entered eternal rest on July 4, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Born on January 20, 1965, in Danville, Virginia, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Elijah and Kitty Mae Wilson Whittle. She received her early education through Danville City Schools and began her career in the textile industry. With a heart for helping others, she earned a care aide certificate and later served as a dedicated Direct Support Professional. A cancer survivor and woman of strong faith, Linda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a faithful member of St. Mary’s Free Will Baptist Church in New Haven, Connecticut. She found great joy in speaking about the goodness of God and encouraging others to live with hope and faith. Linda was a loving and joyful person who cared deeply for her family. She found happiness in making others laugh and took every opportunity to encourage those around her. She often spoke about the goodness of God and inspired others to live with faith and kindness.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her four children, Ebonie Whittle (Kevin), Rhynecor Whittle, Ronte’ Whittle, and Cordez Whittle; four sisters, Darlene Whittle, Patricia Poole (John), Marilyn Whittle, and Christina Whittle; one brother, David Whittle; one sister-in-law, Sarah Whittle; nineteen cherished grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her son, Quintez Whittle; six sisters, Glenda Price, Roberta Wilson, Jean Whittle, Mary Whittle, Pearl Farrell, and Elizabeth Goggins; three brothers, Lewis Whittle, Edward Whittle, and Thomas Whittle; her aunt, Carrie Lee Wilson Walton; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Linda will be affectionately remembered for her deep faith, her devotion to family, and her compassionate heart. Her memory will live on in all who were blessed to know and love her.

The family will receive visitors at the home of her niece, located at 129 Candlewood Drive, Blairs, Virginia 24527, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Evening Light Cathedral.
