LaToya Da'nell Streater

LaToya Da'nell Streater (Toya), 36, of Pelham, NC, departed this earthly life on Monday, June 12, 2023, at her home in Pelham, NC. She was born October 16, 1986, in Chapel Hill, NC, to the late Matthew Streater and Retcher Bassett Streater. 

Toya attended Bartlett Yancey High School and received her General Education Diploma. At the time of her untimely demise, she was pursing her certification as a CNA.

Toya was baptized in Jesus' name, while attending worship services with her family at Clover Apostolic Church. She continued her affiliation with Christ by following family members to Freedom Worship Center where she visited from time to time, and on several occasions, she would sing in the choir.

Toya was a loving, kindhearted and caring person to her family and those she encountered. Toya loved to tease and have fun. She enjoyed being a hairstylist and sharing her talents with those in her community. 

Toya was truly loved by her family and will be greatly missed. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Isaac Lamont Streater.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three brothers, Matthew Streater, Jr., Dwight Antonia Streater, and Devon Lamont Streater, all of Pelham, NC; her maternal grandmother, Martha Bassett of Pelham, NC; several aunts and uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Wilson Funeral Services and Cremation, 179 Piney Forest Rd, Danville, VA, from 4 pm to 6 pm. The family will be present from 4 pm to 6 pm. Graveside Services will be held Monday, June 19, 2023, at 12 Noon at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA. Reverend Rufus Fuller, Eulogist
