James Edward Wilson Sr.,83, of Danville Virginia passed away Monday, June 29, 2026, at Piney Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 06, 1943, in North Carolina he was the son of the late James Floyd Wilson and Katie Love Wilson.  He was married to Alfreda Belcher Wilson, who survives.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter Liza Yvonne Brockmond, two brothers James Floyd Wilson Jr. and Ferdinand Love.

He leaves to cherish his memory in addition to his wife; three sons Chris D. Wilson (Lashawn), James E. Wilson Jr. (Tammie), Benjamin E. Saunders; one sister Mary J. Florance; four grandchildren DeMars D. Wilson (Kim), Renee Wilson, Zipporahia Wilson, Zykia Lipscomb; three great grandchildren Sincere Lipscomb, Jami Alston, Lavontae Alston; a special nephew Melvin Florance; and a host of other relatives and friends.  

Family will receive family and friends at 1022 Paxton Street, Danville, VA 24541.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 2:00 at Hamer Missionary Baptist Church, 4425 North Carolina -62, Blanche, NC 27212. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
