James Smith Jr., 88, of 144 Ashwood Pl. Danville, Virginia, formerly of 106 Darby Road, Danville, Virginia, passed away on December 13, 2021 at his residence.
Born June 9, 1933, he was the son of the late James Smith Sr. and Viola Jeffries Smith. He was married to the late Mary Hardrick Smith.
He was the last survivor of his generation.
Survivors include two daughters, Associate Pastor Clara L. Clark (Associate Pastor Rodney L. Clark) and Vicky Logan (Richard); four sons James Hardrick III, Tyrone Smith, Maurice Smith, and Robin Hardrick; one Aunt Annie Willis Foster; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by one daughter, Shelia Smith; one son, Anthony Antonio Smith; one sister, Peggy Smith; and one brother, Charles Smith.
Family will receive visitors at the residence.
Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday December 18, 2021, at 11 AM at Highland Burial Park with Apostle Eunice Morton Pastor of House of Prayer Worship Church, Eulogist.
