James Edward Irvin Jr. "Pete" 65, of 772 Holland Road, Danville, VA passed away on Tuesday March 9, 2021 at Duke University Medical Center.
Born January 17, 1956 in Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the Eldest son of the late James E. Irvin, Sr. and Margaret Ferrell Irvin.
Survivors include two sisters Jeanette Irvin Garland (Bonzell) and Janice Irvin Williams both of Danville, VA; two brothers Jerome Keith Irvin and Jerry Duane Irvin both of the residence. He was predeceased by one brother Johnny Irvin.
Pete leaves behind two special friends, Ms. Lizzie Hood, whom he visited almost everyday and affectionately called her grandma; A special buddy "Moses" Henderson, whom he hung out with. Pete had a grand niece of the residence whom he called Honi Boo that he shared food, time, and special things. She even made him smile at the end with her "I Love and miss you." Honi Boo was his heart. Pete also leaves behind a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a boatload of grand nieces and nephews.
Pete enjoyed sporting events like softball, volleyball, football, fishing, Nascar, and Drag racing motorcylces and cars. Pete" said what he meant and meant what he said." He will be truly missed by his family and friends who lives he touched.
The family will receive visitors at 207 Dunmore Ave., Danville, VA Visitors will be limited due to the COVID 19 pandemic
Visitation will be held on Saturday March 13, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Services and Cremation, Inc from 5pm-7pm. Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID 19 pandemic, there will be a limit of 10 people at a time and masks are required. Interment will be private.
