James Henry Hairston, 90, of Danville Virginia passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at Sovah Health of Danville.

Born August 7, 1935, in Virginia he was the son of the late John Henry Hairston and Theo Millner Hairston.  He was married to Ondra Hairston, who survives.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one son Patrick Hairston (Sandra); stepson Alvin Hairston; stepdaughter Sherrell Holloman (James); one brother William Hairston; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, He was predeceased by his daughter Beverly Hairston; stepson Sherrod Hairston; two sisters Libby Stockton and Gladys Warrenton; one brother Hodges Hairston; and a great grandchild Deondre Millner.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Moral Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 50 Moral Hill Drive, Axton, VA. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Garden, 2256 Carver Road, Martinsville, VA. A visitation will be held 30 min prior to service from 12:30 P.M. to 1:00 P.M.
