Hazel Lorraine Garland,76, of Danville Virginia passed away Wednesday, June 03, 2026, at Sovah Health of Danville.

Born August 01, 1949, in Pittsylvania County she was the daughter of the late John Wilson and Stella Farmer Wilson.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Matthew Garland Jr., a sister Nilen Gunn, five brothers Ernest Wilson, Calvin Wilson, Edward Wilson, Robert Wilson, and Wallace Wilson.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters Toni Wilson, Tracy Wilson, Sarah Garland; two sons Patrick Wilson, Dejon Garland; five grandchildren Shandon Wilson, Sheridan Wilson, Caevon Wilson, Kai Garland, Nevaeh Garland; three great-grandchildren Shannon Wilson, Shandon Wilson Jr., Emery Wilson; three sisters Thelma Robinson, Mary Mabin, Fannie Miles; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home 204 Ross Street Danville, VA 24541 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Bethel Baptist Church, 6620 Old Richmond Rd. Danville, VA 24540. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
