George Richard Stephens

George R. Stephens, 70, of 3604 Reeves Mill Rd, Sutherlin, VA, passed away, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Sovah Health Danville, VA.

Born September 5, 1950 in Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the son of the late Samuel Eugene Stephens and Nora Reva Calloway.

Survivors include two daughters Reva Glass, of Sutherlin, VA and Tanisha Williams, of Connecticut; two sons, Gary Stephens and Troy Stephens, both of Connecticut; two sisters, Evelyn Stephens Bowman and Pastor Pyrine Stephens Fitzgerald; one brother, Stonewall Calloway; and a host of grandchildren and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Rosa Stephens Calloway and Elder Pinkie Reva Walker; seven brothers, Samuel Stephens Jr, Elix Stephens, Charlie Stephens, Larson Stephens, Orlando Stephens, Gene Calloway, and Cheyenne Calloway.

The family will receive visitors at 425 Bradley Rd and 3604 Reeves Mill Rd., Sutherlin VA

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday April 3, 2021 at 11 AM from Evening Light Cathedral with Bishop Fred B. Kidd, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Services from 4-7 PM.
