Esther Owen Marable, 83, of 5197 Old Richmond Road, Danville, Virginia passed away Monday January 30, 2023, at Sovah Health Danville.

Born November 4, 1939, in Halifax County, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Jesse Owen and Mattie Pearl Owen. She was married to the late Nathaniel Marable.

Survivors include one daughter Gwendolyn Michelle Averett (Darryl); three sons Wilbert Marable (Valerie), Jesse Marable, and Charles Marable (Antonietta); two sisters Juanita Barksdale and Estelle Powell; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by one son Robert Earl Marable; three sisters Mary Moore, Geneva Crews, and Thelma Majors; and three brothers William Berkley Owen, Herbert Owen and Carol Owen.

The family will receive visitors at the home of Darryl and Michelle Averett. 913 Little Creek Road Ringgold,Virginia.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday February 4, 2023, at 1PM at New Vernon Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday February 3, 2023, from 5-7PM at Wilson Funeral Services and Cremation, Inc.
