Dola Gay Burke Raines,70, of Danville, Virginia passed away Monday, July 28, 2025, at her residence, she was of the Christian Faith. 

Born April 4, 1955, in Danville Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Bobbie E. Burke and Glenna Kingery Burke. She was married to Ronald Neal Raines Sr, for 35 years prior to his death.

Survivors include two daughters Robyn Raines and Tina Wells (Byron); one sister Sheila Lewis Oakes (Jerry), seven grandchildren Kayla (Matt), Dakota, Landen, Kyndell, Zoey, Paislee, and six great grandchildren Brayden, Alexis, Ireland, Haven, Evelyn, and Kessler; and a host of other relatives and friends.  

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Raines was preceded in death by one son Ronald Raines Jr and one sister Rebecca Conner. 

Mrs. Raines was employed by Kroger’s as a Deli Manager for over 30 plus years, until she retired due to medical reasons.  She was also an avid reader and enjoyed keeping up distant family and friends on Facebook, but mostly spending time with her grand and great grandchildren, 

The family will receive visitors at 139 Clement Ave Danville Virginia. 

A Private burial for immediate family will take on Friday at 11:00am at Highland Burial Park. 

The family welcomes all family and friends to join them in a Celebration of Dola’s life on Friday August 1, 2025, at Fellowship Baptist in the Fellowship Hall, located at 1029 Halifax rd. 2:00- 5:00 pm. Casual Dress is requested as Dola would want everyone to be relax.   There will be a meal provided for the family, if anyone would like to contribute, it would be greatly appreciated.

In lieu of flower, the family request contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association
