David George “Big Mac” McMoore,79, of Danville Virginia passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Carillion Roanoke Memorial.

Born September 01, 1946, in Danville VA he was the son of the late William T. McMoore and Marie Moore McMoore. He was married to Ernestine McMoore, who survives. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Daniel Lee McMoore, a sister Dorothy Mae McMoore, and a brother James Brekley McMoore Sr.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter Kelly McMoore; three sons David McMoore Jr., Thomas Lamark Hall, Donald Ray Thompson; fifteen grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 400 Arnett Blvd. Danville, VA 24540 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 03, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Bibleway Cathedral, 215 Grant Street Danville, VA 24541. Interment will follow in the Oakhill Cemetery Memorial Park. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Public viewing will be at on June 2, 2026, from 3:30 -5:00.
