Charles Gregory Brown was born in Altoona, PA on January 26, 1956, to Sampson Brown and the late Carrie Brown. He passed away at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC on Saturday February 22, 2025, following a brief illness.


Blue as he was fondly known by family and friends was a graduate of Dobbins High School in Philadelphia, PA. His career spans with Danville Re-Development & Housing Authority in the early 80"s. Thereafter he worked in the construction industry until retirement.


Blue was a skilled musician; in his early life he played the trumpet and trombone in bands. He also played for the world-renowned music group "Stylistics" in Philadelphia, PA.


He was married to Joann Jones Brown who preceded him death. His sister Karen Brown Ferrell also preceded him in death.


He leaves to cherish his memory, His father, Sampson Brown, of Danville, VA; four children Anita Camille Brown and Kristi Brown, both of Philadelphia, PA, William "Bub Taylor of Greensboro, NC and Charles Greory Brown, Jr. of Washington D.C.; two brothers, Simpson Brown of Danville, VA and Vincent Brown (Anya) of Winston Salem, NC; on sister Ann Garrett (Bruce)of Texas; one brother in law Barry Ferrell; one aunt Edith Townsend of Raleigh, NC; a special niece LaToya Ferrell Scarlett (Madison); a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend Laverne Moore of Danville, VA.
