Bertha Louise Woods,86, of Danville Virginia passed away Sunday, June 07, 2026, at Carillion Roanoke Memorial.

Born April 24, 1940, in Danville VA she was the daughter of the late Granderson Swann and Ardell Tucker Payne.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Sylvester Woods, a sister Katherine Russell, brother Donald Tucker, two grandsons Steven Ferguson and Phillip Woods.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters Sylvia Lavaughn Ferguson, Kimberly Renee Dunning (Christopher), Karon Michelle Woods (Charles); three sons Sylvester Lamont Woods, Donald Keith Woods, Karl Avery Woods (Jennifer); three sisters Varalyn Payne, Leatrice Averett, Pamela Warren; three brothers Nathaniel Payne, Anthony Payne, Charles Payne; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. at Wilson Funeral Service and Cremation, Inc 179 Piney Forest Rd Danville, VA 24540. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Highland Burial Park.
